A SMALL town in Scotland has been named the "most scenic" place in the country to visit this winter.
Kelso, which is located in the Scottish Borders, took the top spot after research found that the town had received over 182,000 Instagram hashtags, surpassing dozens of other locations.
The researchers said that Kelso is a popular choice for visitors due to its proximity to the border and the amazing sights on offer here.
Those coming to the community can pick up "one-of-a-kind" souvenirs at the market and enjoy the "picturesque" streets.
The researchers added: "If you’re thinking about a winter trip to Kelso, bring some sturdy boots with firm tread and grip to prevent any accidental slips during your tour of the town!"
