Rio Ferdinand has laid into television pundits Jamie Carragher and Graeme Souness after Liverpool followed up their 7-0 thrashing of Manchester United with defeat at Bournemouth.
And the former Red Devils centre-back accused Jurgen Klopp's team of having a 'small club mentality' in light of their failure to build on the success they enjoyed against his former club only six days earlier.
Ferdinand came under fire last week after confidently predicting that United would win the Premier League clash at Anfield, only for the Reds to hit them for seven in what was a hugely embarrassing result for all concerned with the Manchester outfit.

But identifying an opportunity to strike back, the former England international used his own podcast to not only criticise the mindset of Klopp's side but also call out two of the Reds' former players who had revelled in the 7-0 triumph a week before alongside fellow Sky Sports pundits Roy Keane and Gary Neville.
Talking on FIVE about Liverpool's defeat to the Cherries, Ferdinand said: “That is a small club mentality. That screams small club.
"The way Souness and Carragher were celebrating, the way they were trying to antagonise the guys [Roy Keane and Gary Neville], and then their team goes and does that at the weekend. They should be ashamed of themselves.”
Liverpool had closed the gap between themselves and third-placed United to seven points with their historic 7-0 victory at Anfield, but the subsequent defeat at Bournemouth, coupled with United's point at home to Southampton has seen the margin stretch back out to eight points.
The Reds finished 34 points ahead of their fiercest rivals last season but since losing 2-1 at Old Trafford back in August have remained below United in the Premier League all season.
