Slug & Lettuce in Bristol city centre reopens following major refurbishment

A city centre bar unveiled its new look last night (February 20) following a major refurbishment.

Slug & Lettuce was closed for one month while the work was carried out, leaving it with a refreshed look and a number of new features.

Bookable birdcage booths provide a VIP experience for groups of friends looking for a ritzy get-together while neon signs and a 'selfie wall' have also been added to make finding the backdrop for an Instagram post easy, said a spokesperson.

Elsewhere two new cocktail masterclass stations will allow customers to try their hand at mastering the art of making cocktails to get their night off to a fun start.

See inside Slug & Lettuce after its transformation:

From pornstar and espresso martinis to brambles and the classic mojito, people can learn how to make their favourite drinks for £25 per person, perfect for hen parties and birthdays.

Those who don’t want to make their own drinks can relax in one of the bar’s new booths and order from the extended cocktail menu.

From pina coladas served in golden pineapples to refreshing spritzes and pornstar martinis there is a flavour for everyone, accompanied by a DJ who will be playing in the venue every Saturday night until late.

In terms of food, dishes on the new menu include slow-cooked beef bao buns and fishcake salad, as well as a range of open sandwiches.

For vegans and vegetarians there are now twelve options to choose from, with highlights including the smoky soya sloppy Joe tostada and the Moving Mountains burger.

General Manage Neil Shorter said: "We can’t wait to reveal our new look to the people of Bristol.

"With an amazing cocktail list and decadent décor, every visit to our new look bar will be memorable and we are looking forward to hearing what our customers think."
