Nottingham Forest supporters are concerned that the club's interest in Issa Kabore spells the end of the line for hope of Djed Spence returning to the City Ground.
NottinghamshireLive reported on Saturday that Forest are tracking Kabore, who had a successful season on loan at Ligue 1 club Troyes from Manchester City. The 21-year-old has caught the eye and won the young player of the tournament award at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Some Forest supporters are now resigned to losing Spence, who is reportedly on the verge of a move to Tottenham, while others remain hopeful that Forest can sign both Spence and Kabore to compete with one another. Below is a look at what some fans have been saying in response to the report.

@MMillennial87 : I hope this is a backup option as we should be going all out to get Spence especially when it’s clear he wants to stay. £15 million is nothing for a player of his age and quality.
@Islander151 : I watched AFCON in January and he really impressed me! A RWB talent with pure pace, energy, directness and skill. He is a talent destined for good things and you can see why Man City own him, but Spence should be number 1.
crazyhikerguy : If I’m not mistaken, we can only carry two loan players. So if Garner is one of them, who’s the other? We know Spence is going to be sold. Likely the same with Keinan Davis. Curious to see how Cooperman leverages those two precious loan spots. He has great pedigree nurturing young talent, so I imagine we can poach a real gem from one of the big six…
@fox_alfie : He’s 21 and won AFCON young player of the tournament this year - I reckon he’d be the perfect Spence replacement Would even be tempted to try and get both him and spence to add some competition at RWB.
Timmmmmy : Yeah think this is the slow let down to missing out on Spence.
Terry Mac : We need to sign Djed Spence end of. He's the man that makes the team click.
Daniel Heathcote : Get him as back up and to push Spence.
