Slovan Bratislava goalscorer receives text from Spurs favourite after Celtic stunner

Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-Min Son was among the first to reach out to former teammate Kevin Wimmer after the defender scored a sensational goal in the UEFA Champions League last week.

Wimmer, who played for Spurs from 2015 to 2017, stunned fans with a remarkable strike against Celtic at Parkhead, quickly becoming a viral sensation despite the Scottish giants triumphing 5-1 winners.

Brendan Rodgers' hosts ran riot over Slovan Bratislava to get their league phase campaign off to the perfect start.

But that hasn't stopped opposition the centre-back feeling proud of his consolation effort - which was his first for his current club.

“I still have very good contact with Sonny,” the ex-Austrian internationalist told Spurs' match day programme in the build up to their own European clash versus Qarabag.

“We speak quite a lot – especially after my goal in the Champions League, he texted me about that.

"We still have a very good relationship and I always try to see him as much as possible, but of course it’s not always so easy because we both have a very busy schedule and he also has the national team. But we always try to speak as much as possible and he’s still one of my best friends.”
