Slime Rancher 2: All Gordo Slime locations

Slimes come in all shapes and sizes, which is what makes farming them so much fun in Slime Rancher 2. However, there is one type of slime that you can’t bring back to your farm with you, Gordo Slimes. These giant blobs will sit around and block your path, meaning finding and bursting them will give you a lot more potential for exploration as you expand your farm.

Once you’ve found one, all you need to do is feed it until it pops, so we’ll tell you where to find every Gordo Slime in Slime Rancher 2. If you’re still on the hunt for some of the new slime types, then make sure to check out our guide on Angler Slimes, Ringtail Slimes, and Batty Slimes.

Pink Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

As you may expect, the Pink Gordo Slime is one of the first you’ll encounter and should be the first you pop, too, as it blocks your path to Ember Valley. As you make your way to the northwestern side of Rainbow Fields, where the Tabby Slimes spawn, you’ll see a small path in the rock formations on your right. Head down that path to find this slime.

Pink Slimes will eat anything and have no favourite food, so bring whatever you can carry to feed it.

Cotton Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

Cotton Slimes are the first type of new slime you’ll come across, and the Gordo version isn’t hard to find either. As you leave your ranch, you’ll pass through two big open areas where Cotton Slimes spawn. In the second, there is a small path that leads up a hill on the left as you enter, the Cotton Gordo Slime waits at the top.

This slime only eats veggies and its favourite food is carrots, which are thankfully everywhere on Rainbow Fields and very easy to come by. Behind it is the switch which opens the gate to Starlight Strand.

Phosphor Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

The last Gordo Slime in Rainbow Fields, the Phosphor Gordo Slime is tucked away beneath the ground. Starting once again from your ranch, if you stick to the left in the first big open area you’ll find a small opening that leads down towards the coast. Look at the cliff face in front of you and you’ll see a cave opening with the Gordo in the entryway.

Phosphor Slimes only eat fruit, and their favourite food is cubefruit, which you can find on a few trees dotted around Rainbow Fields. Past this Gordo is a small cave containing a Treasure Pod.

Honey Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

This sweet Gordo is waiting for you on Starlight Strand. You want to go to one of the big open pink-grass areas, where a waterfall drops into a small river. In the northeast corner of this area, there is a ridge between cliffs that you’ll need a jetpack to get on top of, this is where the Honey Gordo Slime can be found.

These slimes eat fruit, with the mint mango beings its favourite. Sat behind it are two Treasure Pods.

Hunter Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

Sticking with Starlight Strand, the Hunter Gordo Slime can be found in a tide pool area close to sea level. It is almost directly below the giant tree in the centre of the area on the western side. To get there you’ll need to pass through a blue-grass valley with tree roots crossing over the top of it.

Hunter Slimes are carnivores, so you’ll need to bring plenty of hen ens to satiate them, but if you want things to go a bit quicker, then their favourite food is roostro. This Hunter guards a Treasure Pod.

Angler Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

For the Angler Gordo Slime, you have two options for how to get to it. Either way, you need to get as far east as you can on the pink-grass side of the island. From there, you can either drop downwards onto a long stretch of tide pool terrain that leads to a cave where it sits. Alternatively, you can continue up the pink-grass hill a little further and you’ll find a big hole in the ground that will drop you right on top of it.

Angler Slimes are carnivorous and their favourite food is sea hens. Bursting it will uncover a geyser that acts as a shortcut up to the top of the mountain.

Ringtail Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

The Ringtail Gordo Slime is a tricky customer, as during the day it turns to stone so you can’t interact with it. Make sure you come at night to the top of the hole that the Angler Gordo sat underneath. All you have to do is go a little further uphill from there and turn right before you cross the big stone bridge.

Ringtail Slimes don’t have a favourite food, but they’ll eat absolutely anything you throw at them. Bursting this slime will uncover a second portal that lets you travel between Rainbow Fields and Starlight Strand.

Flutter Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

Easy to find, but not so easy to feed, the Flutter Gordo Slime is on the southernmost point of Starlight Strand on the exact point where the blue and pink grass meet, on top of a large stone structure.

Unfortunately, Flutter Slimes only eat one thing, Moondew Nectar, which can be tough to find as it only spawns at night. The good news is that you only need to feed it 15, as opposed to the usual 50. You can check out our guide on how to find Moondew Nectar for more information. Popping it will open up a small cave with a Treasure Pod inside.

Rock Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

Heading over to Ember Valley now, getting to this one takes a surprisingly large amount of legwork. Starting from the main portal to Ember Valley, head down the straight path, but hug the right cliff as you’ll need to slip down a small cave opening that isn’t easily spotted. Follow through into the cave there, where there are three statues you need to shoot Boom plorts into. This will open a gate to another cave area. Here you can use a combination of geysers and your jetpack to get through a small hole in the top of the wall. On the other side is the Rock Gordo Slime.

Rock Slimes love veggies, and the heart beet is their favourite. Bursting it will uncover a geyser that takes you up to a small rocky area containing a Treasure Pod.

Crystal Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

Like rocks, but shinier, the Crystal Gordo Slime is much easier to get to than its rocky counterpart. Starting in the big open geyser-filled area of Ember Valley, use a geyser to launch yourself towards the rocky, mountainous area in the northeast. Follow the left path which requires a jetpack and you’ll come out behind the Crystal Gordo.

These slimes also love veggies, but the odd onion is their favourite food. This slime will uncover a geyser which acts as a shortcut between the lower and higher regions of Ember Valley.

Tabby Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

The path to the Tabby Gordo Slime starts similar to the Crystal Gordo, as you must launch yourself to the same mountainous part of Ember Valley. However, this time you must take the path to the right, through a linear cave until you reach a geyser – you’ll need to use your jetpack at the top to get through the hole in the cave roof. From there, continue around the right wall of the area until you see a few islands stretching off into the distance, the Tabby Gordo is on the furthest one out.

Tabby Slimes are meat-eaters and stony hens are their favourite. Bursting this Gordo uncovers a second portal between Rainbow Fields and Ember Valley.

Batty Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

Starting once more from the open geyser area, this time walk west towards the volcanic region. However, just before the area covered in lava, turn left and head up a hill. A cave is at the top and venturing into the back of that cave will reveal the Batty Gordo Slime.

Batty Slimes only eat fruit, and you’ll need to bring pomegranates to pop this Gordo the fastest. This Gordo blocks a shortcut to the harder-to-reach areas of the volcanic region of Ember Valley.

Boom Gordo Slime location - Slime Rancher 2

The Boom Gordo Slime is at the westernmost point of Ember Valley. It sits on the edge of the volcanic region in front of a big stone entryway that can be seen for miles, it’s very hard to miss once you’re back there.

Meat is the way to go for Boom Slimes, and they have a particular fondness for briar hens. Bursting it will uncover the entryway for a small cave containing two Treasure Pods.
