Sligo Rovers youngsters were treated to a special trip to Everton as they got to meet Seamus Coleman and catch in a game.
The Everton and Ireland captain started his career at the Sligo club before moving to Merseyside in 2009.
And through his link, the Premier League club has strong ties with the League of Ireland side.
The Sligo Under 14's travelled over to Everton's Finch Park where they played the club's Under 13's side in a friendly and were then treated to Everton's Under 18's clash against Liverpool.
The Sligo Under 14's then were guests at Everton's thrilling clash against Man City where the club controversially lost 1-0 to the Premier League leaders.
Sligo would then compete alongside Fleetwood, Morecambe, Preston, Blackpool and Oldham in a football festival.
The two clubs announced a strategic partnership in 2021 where they would be part of cross-promotional activities such as fan engagement, marketing and tailored membership packages.
Sligo's Head of Academy Conor O'Grady said: “We’re really enjoying the partnership and it was great to finally get over to Everton.
“We’ve been having ongoing chats over the past year after Covid unfortunately stopped us travelling, but we managed to attend the Brentford game and we’ve more visits to come.
“As yet, we haven’t had the chance to do much in person, but it’s also been good to get in touch with all the other affiliated clubs around the world.
“Our U14s team have also been able to make the trip and there’s a lot of good stuff to come in the partnership. As a result, I think you’ll see a lot more Evertonians in Sligo!”
