As Dundee prepares to welcome pop superstars Simply Red and Paloma Faith this weekend, here’s everything you need to know about road closures around Slessor Gardens. The weekend's mega festival of music is set to attract thousands of folk to the city centre.
To keep everyone safe, Dundee City Council working in conjunction with Tayside Police will be shutting various roads around the concert venue.
Simply Red are taking to the stage on Saturday with Paloma set for a Sunday night gig.
Roads around Slessor Gardens will be shut on both days - others will also be closed into next week as the post event strip-down happens.
Simply Red’s support act is superstar Mica Paris, who released her eighth studio album Gospel in 2020.
Paloma Faith will be backed up by three acts - London-based Zak Abel, who is currently supporting Diana Ross on her UK tour, Irish folk-rock band Hermitage Green and X factor star Lucy Spraggan.
A spokesman for Tayside Police got into the spirit of the weekend’s events.
They said: “This weekend sees the final pair of this year’s concerts at Dundee’s Slessor Gardens as Simply Red and Paloma Faith hit town, so unless you don’t know us by now, we’re about to do the right thing and share the Council’s road closure and bus stop plans.
“We’re along the usual lines here. Parking shouldn’t be too tight to mention, just use your mirror and you’ve got it.
“There isn’t a fairground, but what’s on site should just be enough. Although you won’t be able to make your own kind of music, sadly.
“The events should finish under the stars around 11, so it won’t be running til sunrise. As always, full details are available at the Council website.”
