Sleeping Beauty panto spins into the Civic Theatre this Christmas

Is it even Christmas without a panto?

Spinning into The Civic this December comes the spellbinding tale of Sleeping Beauty. At her 18th Birthday party, the beautiful Princess Aurora pricks her finger on a spindle wheel, cursed by the evil Maleficent. The Good Queen casts a magical spell to break the curse, but sends her into a magical slumber.

The Princess can only be woken from her sleep by… True love’s kiss. Will she find her true love and live happily ever after?

This enchanting tale has a dream cast, with Fair City’s Sorcha Furlong returning to The Civic Panto as the glamorous baddie and Voice Of Ireland star Kevin Keeley is back as the loveable Tickles, while Robert Downes plays the outrageous Dame Dottie. Other key players include the beautiful Keila Ana Whelan (Princess Aurora), Joe Jennings (Prince Charming) and the wonderful Sarah Harvey as the stunning Good Queen. The junior chorus is composed of over 40 children aged 6-18 from dance schools from across Dublin.

Featuring sparking sets, dazzling costumes and amazing special effects, Sleeping Beauty really is the pantomime you’ve been dreaming of!

With 54 shows planned over the holiday season and over 16,000 patrons expected, The Civic is thrilled to return to their first live panto since 2019. Schools shows are already sold out with over 2,500 school children attending.

The show runs from December 7th to January 8th - early booking is highly recommended! Tickets are €20/€18, or you can pick up a family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) for €70.
