A slapping contest in which men try to inflict as much pain against each other with a single slap to the face is making a huge noise – literally – in the latest “bizarre” sport/curiosity that’s turning heads, especially on YouTube.
And millions of slapping devotees have been turning their attention to the sport’s first superstar; someone you wouldn’t want to face in competition, no pun intended.
Russian bear Vasiliy Kamotskiy is a mammoth of a man, who has slapped his way to superstardom and just a few days ago took it a notch further when he claimed another victim, this time against Kirill “Bazooka Arms” Tereshin, a so-called bodybuilder with synthol-filled biceps.
Tereshin thought he could take on the big Russian, dubbed “Dumpling” (he likes to eat them, we are told) but he was seriously mistaken, as the latest face-slapping video on YouTube shows.
Komotskiy, who weighs more than 168 kgs (370lbs), proved no match for Pyatigorsk native Tereshin, who made headlines with his “foot-long” biceps that have dramatically been increased in size as a result of dozens of synthol drug injections.
Slapping contests are relatively new in Russia but it is gaining keen interest thanks to slap artists like Komotskiy, who won his first competition at his first try in a sport that’s considered one of the most brutal in the world.
An avid powerlifting fan and a farmer by trade, Kamotskiy’s huge frame and gigantic hands would make him a serious competitor in any strength sports such as powerlifting and wrestling, but it seems slapping has become his forte.
Rules are fairly simple: players face off with a table they can get a grip before the serious action begins. Players then slap the socks of each other before the other one gives up or can’t continue.
Komotskiy is an undisputed champion as he proved at the Siberian Power Show in March when he knocked out two of his opponents with such brute force the media dubbed him the “Siberian Slapping Machine”.
And against “Bazooka Arms” his single slap carried so much force, it knocked down the “wannabe-Hercules” sending him sprawling to the ground. Only moments earlier, Kamotskiy didn’t so much as flinch when he was slapped by “Bazooka Arms”.
The latest smackdown came days after YouTuber Logan Paul pulled out of a slapping contest against Kamotskiy in a showdown that was supposed to have taken place in the Russian city Tver.
Paul got cold feet, fearing “serious injury” to which Kamotskiy called him “chicken” among other names.
In the meantime, Kamotskiy, who has a huge following (428,000 Instagram followers and counting) and has UFC’s Joe Rogan among his many fans, said he was ready to take on all comers.
But he’s not pleased that there were “too many people” in the arena of his latest victory and requested stricter rules.
“People were crowding around me. I for one, don’t like it when people crowd around me,” he said after his latest victory.
