Sky TV customers can get sports coverage at no extra cost with discovery+

With many of us keen to make our money go further in the current climate, a new Sky TV deal could be good news for sports fans.

The latest offering from Sky TV sees discovery+ being made available to Sky TV subscribers at no extra charge, saving £6.99 a month.

Sky TV customers who are already enjoying the 12-months’ discovery+ Entertainment pass will now be able to access the discovery+ Entertainment and Sport service on an ongoing basis as part of their Sky TV package, Wales Online reports. If you fall into this category, you don't need to do anything, as you will be automatically upgraded.

discovery+ is a streaming service showing real-life, non-fiction and sports programmes. This includes live sports events such as the Australian Open and Roland-Garros tennis, over 300 days of cycling, including the Tour de France, snooker, motorsports and every moment of Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The discovery+ website says "there is something for everyone", and viewers can expect documentaries, reality TV, true crime, food, relationship shows, and more. Popular shows included in the discovery+ line up include Vardy vs Rooney: The Wagatha Trial, 90 Day Fiancé, Richard Hammond’s Workshop, Peter Crouch: Save Our Beautiful Game and Faking It specials.

Elizabeth Wynn, managing director, Sky TV, said: “We know value is incredibly important right now, so we’re pleased to bring discovery+ to our Sky TV customers at no extra cost, saving £6.99 a month. And if you’re a Sky Stream or Sky Glass customer, you can stream all this content, including TV, film and sport straight over wi-fi with no dish, bringing together all your channels, shows and apps into one place.”

Antonio Ruiz, GM UK & Ireland Warner Bros. Discovery, said: “We’re delighted to build on our partnership with Sky and give Sky TV subscribers in the UK & Ireland access to both discovery+ Entertainment and Sport as part of their Sky TV subscription."

The addition of discovery+ allows Sky customers to watch even more entertainment and sport at no extra cost. Seamlessly integrated, the discovery+ app is easy to find via the Apps rail on Sky Glass, Sky Stream and Sky Q.

To sign up, head to the discovery+ app on Sky, or say ‘Get discovery plus’ to your Sky Glass or into your Sky Q/Sky Stream voice remote. For more information visit this helpful resource from Sky.
