Shane Lowry has been hailed as an 'absolute beaut' after a stunning second round at The Masters.
The Offaly man is hoping to scoop up his second major and was highly thought of coming into this week.
And in blustery conditions at Augusta, Lowry produced the best round of anyone in the field with a stunning four under par 68.
The 2019 Open Champion birdied three of the back nine, including a stunning pitch in and held his nerve to par the 16th after a poor tee shot.
And the round leaves Lowry in a tie for second as he trails world number one Scottie Scheffler.
And Sky Sports viewers were full of praise for the world number 35.
One social media user wrote: "Shane Lowry you absolute beaut"
While another said: "Shane Lowry just doin’ it to ‘em today man. Fun to watch."
And another added: "I know it’s still earlier days but it’s absolute class to see @ShaneLowryGolf in 2nd at the Masters at the moment! Huge weekend ahead"
If Lowry is to go on to win he would become the first Irish winner of the tournament's history.
