Sky Sports gives Celtic near-perfect mid-season score, Rangers get 3 out of 10

Sky Sports have published a mid-season report card for all 12 teams in the Scottish Premiership, heaping praise on Brendan Rodgers' league-leading Celtic side in the process.

With a score of 9.5/10, the sports broadcaster billed the reigning Scottish champions as near-flawless so far, having "barely put a foot wrong" during the opening stretch of the 2024/25 trail.

Despite having fallen off the pace somewhat in recent weeks, Aberdeen were hailed for their impressive start to the season, in turn ranking 7.5 for their efforts.

Hearts and Hibs were marked down heavily – with 2/10 and 3/10 rankings respectively – for their disappointing performances to this point that have seen both Edinburgh sides languishing near the foot of the table.

And despite appearing to hit their stride in more recent weeks, Rangers' poor start to the campaign saw them handed a 3/10 for their work from start of the campaign to now.

Read Sky Sports' analysis in full here, but here's their take on Celtic so far:

"Celtic stumbled in parts last season after the departure of Ange Postecoglou and the return of Brendan Rodgers, with the Parkhead side in somewhat of a transitional phase as their old boss reacquainted himself in the east end of Glasgow.

"There was a feeling last term that there were gaps to sneak through or vulnerabilities to exploit. This season Celtic have barely put a foot wrong. Aberdeen threatened to lay down a title challenge with a 2-2 draw at Celtic Park in October but, in truth, the game could have been over at half-time with Celtic two goals to the good.

"Rodgers' side have been perfect since that draw, and have conceded just four league goals all season.

"They have been ruthless domestically and progressed in Europe, with much-improved performances on the continent, while they also bagged the first trophy on offer this season after a somewhat controversial win over Rangers in the League Cup final earlier this month."
