Sky Sports apologised after Tiger Woods swore during their broadcast of his epic return at the Masters on Thursday.
Woods is making a scarcely believable appearance at Augusta, just 14 months on from his horrific car crash outside Los Angeles. The accident led to the 46-year-old suffering a shattered leg, and he underwent extensive rehabilitation to recover.
His return at the Masters was incredible to witness - but after bogeying at the eighth hole, frustration began to build inside the 15-time major champion. Woods loudly vented his frustrations following a poor second shot on the ninth, a par four.
Woods' tee shot sent him into the trees after he originally hooked his effort round to the left. He wasn't best pleased with his second shot either, which landed on the green and appeared to be good before rolling back down onto the fairway.
Woods was clearly annoyed at his effort, with the five-time champion uttering "f*** off" after watching his ball spin off the green. Sky Sports commentator Andrew Coltart was forced to quickly react and apologise for Woods’ language.
“Apologies if you heard any untoward language there,” Coltart told viewers. “He got caught out with the breeze. When he said ‘Get there’, he meant get it up on to that shelf. When it didn’t he was surprised and the frustration was boiling over.”
Woods chipped onto the green but overhit the shot and faced a 10 foot putt to save par. He held his nerve to sink the putt to end the front nine in style.

Woods made a steady start to his first round on a PGA event since the 2020 Masters, coming through the first five holes level par. He sunk a dramatic putt on the 16th to deliver the first fist pump of the tournament for Woods, and he held on to sensationally finish -1 for the day.
Augusta National is largely regarded as one of the toughest venues to play in the United States, hence why securing the coveted green jacket is regarded as such an impressive feat. It makes it all the more impressive that Woods has opted to return at such a challenging setting.
