Sky Sports apologise as Shane Lowry drops 'F-bombs' during Irish Open

Shane Lowry launched into a stunning foul mouthed tirade during the Horizon Irish Open this afternoon, that left Sky Sports commentators scrambling to apologise.

It's been a frustrating couple of days for Lowry. Tipped by many to secure victory this week, the 35-year-old has struggled to keep up with the pace and currently sits at one over par for the tournament, a whopping twelve shots off the top of the leaderboard.

And that frustration got the better of Lowry, as he launched into a swear laden rant midway through his second round.

The Irishman dropped a number of 'F-bombs' in a row after hitting one particularly poor shot. As the outburst occurred at just 3:30pm in the day, Sky Sports commentators to rushed to apologise for Lowry's language.

Numerous people on Twitter managed to see the funny side in the situation.

"Shane Lowry getting a volley of at least four eff-ings in before Sky commentator could apologise. Glorious," wrote one.

"Shane Lowry dropping four F-Bombs in 5 seconds at 3:30pm in the afternoon, is exactly the golfing content I need," said another.

This isn't the first time Sky have had to apologise for Lowry's language, with the Offaly man dropping another 'F-bomb' recently at the PGA Championship.

This is one of the reasons why we all love the Irishman, as he wears his heart on his sleeve and always gives it his all. With that being said, Lowry needs a big push for the rest of his back nine if he is to make the cut for the weekend.
