Sky release 'F1 only' sports package ahead of Bahrain Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton heads into this weekend looking to win the Bahrain Grand Prix for the fourth successive year. The event, which takes place over 57 laps of the 5.412-kilometre Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, takes place on Sunday, March 20 from 3pm UK time.

All coverage of the Bahrain Grand Prix will be exclusive to Sky Sports on their dedicated F1 channel. In anticipation of the start of the Championship season, Sky are offering an 'F1 only' sports package for an additional £18 per month.

This offer is exclusive to existing Sky customers looking to upgrade and can be found here. If you're not a Sky subscriber already, you can check out the latest discounts and offers at sky.com/deals/

What are the TV times for the Bahrain Grand Prix?

  • Friday, March 18 - Practice 1 - 12pm
  • Friday, March 18 - Practice 2 - 3pm
  • Saturday, March 19 - Practice - 12pm
  • Saturday, March 19 - Qualifying - 3pm
  • Sunday, March 20 - Grand Prix - 3pm

The event first began in 2004 when it was won by Michael Schumacher and Ferrari. It has been held every year since, apart from in 2011 as a result of the Bahraini Uprising when drivers such as Damon Hill and Mark Webber lent their support to the protests.

Lewis Hamilton's three victories in 2019, 2020, and 2021 added to his wins in 2014 and 2015. His win in 2014 was the first that the Grand Prix had been held as a night event.

Despite his recent dominance in Bahrain, reigning F1 champion Max Verstappen is considered the slight favourite. Red Bull currently look to be in the best position with Mercedes duo Hamilton and George Russell admitting they may not be in a position to immediately fight for victory when the season kicks off this Sunday.
