The life of Alan Marsh will be celebrated tonight on what would've been his 74th birthday.
The popular Kilmarnock figure passed away on Thursday night and the community is gathering this evening to pay their respects to him.
Known as Big Al to loved ones, the 73-year-old was regarded as Scotland's biggest celebrity autograph hunter after meeting thousands of famous faces.
Loved ones will gather at the Lidl car park in Kilmarnock, across from Alan's home above Maggie's Bar and Kitchen and let off lanterns from 8pm.
Maggies Bar and Kitchen said: "Tomorrow [Tuesday] at 8pm we will be releasing sky lanterns in memory of Big Al on what would have been his 74th Birthday.
"Alan's friends at Lidl have kindly agreed to let us use part of their carpark for the release.
"Everyone is welcome to join us to pay tribute to a wonderful man who is sorely missed already."
It's anticipated that Alan's former wife Georgina Marsh and their three sons and two grandkids will be among those at the memorial event this evening.
Speaking to Ayrshire Live today, Georgina said the family were truly blown away by the outpouring of love following Alan's sudden passing.
To mark Alan's birthday, Georgina shared a picture of her and Alan on their wedding day and said: "Happy birthday in heaven, Alan. Death can't separate people from love; they can't take our memories away either. In the end love is stronger than death. Death is not the end."
Friends and family of Alan are welcomed down to Lidl on Kilmarnock's High Glencairn Street tonight at 8pm.
