Sky bosses have halted broadcasting a show after a social media backlash erupted over a Portishead carpenter's tattoos.
Darren Lumsden has been appearing in the Sky History show The Chop, where contestants are competing to be crowned Britain's Top Woodworker.
After seeing him on TV, people drew attention to Mr Lumsden's facial tattoo of the number 88.
Sky chiefs initially offered an explanation of the tattoo, but have now said they are investigating, and confirmed no more episodes of him will appear until it's concluded.
They have also scrapped all of their social media posts of the North Somerset dad.
Earlier today (October 20) Sky bosses said his tattoo was in memory of his dad who died in 1988.
It added: "The production team carried out extensive background checks on all the woodworkers taking part in the show, that confirmed Darren has no affiliations or links to racist groups, views or comments."
But in a statement tonight, a spokesperson said: "While we investigate the nature and meaning of Darren’s tattoos we have removed the video featuring him from our social media, and will not be broadcasting any eps of The Chop until we have concluded that investigation.
"Sky HISTORY stands against racism & hate speech of all kinds."
In an earlier interview Darren, did not shy away from the fact his tattoos have shocked people over the years.
He started having his head and face tattooed around 10 years ago, and said: “I had other tattoos already.
“But about 10 years ago I saw someone with facial tattoos and started to work with my tattooist on my look.
