The murder of a Renfrewshire mum shot in the head by her boyfriend is to be probed in a new documentary.
Vicki Elliot was killed by Paul Bryceland in a crime that shocked the community almost 20 years ago.
The 18-year-old's body was dumped in down an embankment on to a rubbish tip at the Sergeantlaw Road lay-by at Glennifer Braes in Paisley, reports The Daily Record
The High Court in Glasgow at the time heard how Bryceland, from Stevenson, was enraged after discovering Vicki, from Paisley, had sent text messages to a young soldier she slept with.
Now TV producers want to speak to those who knew Vicki or Bryceland, as well as those who remember the murder, for an upcoming Sky Crime investigative show.
Series two of Forensics: Catching the Killer is in the works and one researcher has appealed to Paisley locals who may wish to take part in the episode focused on Vicki.
The researcher, from True North Productions Ltd, released a statement this week, stressing that producers 'never glorify the killers or sensationalise what they did'.
He wrote: "We are currently in the process of making series two of Forensics: Catching the Killer for the Sky Crime channel.
"The central theme of the series is how forensic science and police investigation have been key to solving murders and securing successful convictions.
"We focus on investigations, the experts who took part in them and the victims and their loved ones.
"We never glorify the killers or sensationalise what they did.
"We also aim to inform and educate our viewers as to the process of forensic investigation."
Vicki's family are 'on board', according to True North, who aim to 'highlight domestic violence and women's safety' as well as the forensic science that 'went on to help bring Bryceland to justice'.
The statement continued: "For one of the new episodes we are looking into the murder of Vicki Elliot who was killed at Glennifer Braes in June 2003.
"We have spoken to Vicki Elliot's family who are on board and want to keep Vicki's name alive, and we are also working with the forensic officers who helped solve the case.
"I am currently looking to speak to anyone who remembers the case, who knew Vicki or her killer, Paul Bryceland.
"With this episode we are wanting to highlight the importance of domestic violence and women's safety and the forensic science that went on to help bring Vicki's Killer Paul Bryceland to justice."
The jury during the 2004 trial heard how Vicki separated from the father of her baby girl to be with monster Bryceland.
After learning that Vicki had been unfaithful, jealous Bryceland took his lover to a burger bar, then on to Glennifer Braes where he killed her.
He fled to Blackpool and was arrested by armed police in a service station car park at Abington, Lanarkshire, as he returned to Scotland.

It's reported that he was spotted under the influence of drugs and alcohol in Blackpool.
He was found guilty of murder at the High Court in Glasgow in October 2004 after a unanimous vote form the jury.
