SKOL Search: Carson Strong Scouting Report

Carson Strong was a low three-star recruit out of California that had only one other Division I offer from Iowa State. He started 31 games for the Wolfpack, completing 68.1% of his passes for 9,379 yards, 74 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. He is the true definition of a pocket passer that can dissect a defense.

At the University of Nevada, Strong ran a modified Air Raid offense that was ran mostly from the pistol formation. This offense was made famous by Colin Kaepernick before he was drafted in 2011. Ran by The Matt Mumme, the son of the creator of the Air Raid Hal Mumme, the Wolfpack saw a myriad of success throughout Strong’s tenure, but weren’t able to finish games against the better teams in the Mountain West, losing by two points each to San Diego State, Fresno State and Air Force.
