American shoe brand Skechers is known for high-quality daily wear shoes that employ memory foam to ensure comfort. However, it’s performance division is equally remarkable and has launched a new pair of shoes aimed at runners—the Skechers GOrun 7. The shoes are engineered with cutting edge technology like the Hyper Burst foam and a fabric knit mesh that almost acts like a compression sock.
All of this isn’t just marketing mumbo-jumbo—all of the tech actually helps in real-life use cases. The Hyper Burst cushioning is durable yet plush, a remarkable combination that keeps you comfortable during long runs and even marathons. The additional bounce and support provided by the foam helps you maintain steady strides. The foam extends from the midsole to the outsole and is reinforced by strategically-placed rubber pillars on the bottom that grip wet and uneven surfaces. We tried the shoes out in a variety of surfaces including asphalt, treadmills, grass and even mud. The shoes provided fantastic grip in all scenarios.
The sock-like upper is made out of high quality knit mesh that provides breathability. The fabric is stretchable, soft and has a snug fit. It also has a slight taper at the toes. In the past. I have had trouble with other shoe brands that have such uppers, since the elastic backstitching really starts to irritate the skin around my Achilles tendon. I was surprised that I didn’t have have any such problems with the GOrun 7.

Long runs are often hindered by the sheer weight of your shoes. The GOrun 7 weighs a feathery 221g, making it one of the lightest shoes in the price range.
The GOrun 7 can also be used as an every pair of sneakers as they are equally comfortable while walking and if you choose the right colour (black), they can be paired with a variety of clothes without looking tacky. You just have to clean the shoes regularly as the knit mesh attracts a lot of dust.
