Some of the biggest NBA trade offseason storylines happened in the past week right before the 2023–24 season tips off.
On Sunday, former Bucks guard Jrue Holiday was traded to the Celtics after originally being part of the three-team trade that sent Damian Lillard to Milwaukee. Holiday was first sent to Portland, but the Trail Blazers decided to accept a trade for him to go to Boston.
It’s been quite a whirlwind for the NBA world to the point where one of the league’s biggest stars had to chime in. Sixers center Joel Embiid posted a seemingly sarcastic message on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday morning.
“This off-season was fun lmao,” Embiid wrote.

Fans also speculated that Embiid tweeted this specifically after the Holiday trade because the new Celtics guard was reported to be linked to the 76ers in trade talks.
Now, Holiday will play for one of Philadelphia’s biggest Eastern Conference rivals. The Celtics beat the 76ers in the Eastern Conference semifinals this past postseason.
