Six romantic Welsh cottages perfect for a Valentine's Day stay

Whether you want to spend the time enjoying walks along the coast, enjoy shops and restaurants and some much-needed downtime or just enjoy closing the front door on a holiday home and leaving the world outside, a cottage stay is a great way to reconnect and spend time with your favourite person away from the distractions and stresses of home.

With Valentine's Day falling on a Tuesday this year there are two weekends available to mark the occasion with a getaway with a special someone and, as ever, Wales has some stunning options on the doorstep for a romantic break.

We've rounded up some of the best with availability in the run up to the big day.

Perfect for: Watching red kites swoop across the landscape while lying in bed with a coffee.

Barley Cottage is a cosy, rustic home away from home packed with high-spec touches including a marbled shower room, high speed wifi and fully fitted kitchen.

Aberaeron is a short distance away and the perfect place to visit cafes, food shops, local butchers and boutiques before heading into the bookshop to pick up something to read curled up on one of the cottage's comfortable window seats.
