Six most popular Scots properties on Zoopla - from £50k bargain to 11-bedroom dream home

Scottish property dominated Zoopla's recent list of the most popular homes for sale.

A total six out of the 10 homes hailed from Scotland's property market with an impressive variety for all types of buyers.

The listings range from a home costing less than £50,000 to a vast 11-bedroom, three-house property that could be a charming B&B.

Zoopla reported a 50 percent jump in demand for property in January - the biggest New Year increase in five years.

Locations for the sought-after properties spanned from Motherwell to atop the Whaligoe steps in Caithness.

Here's a look at the Scottish properties that appealed to buyers on Zoopla.

Ever dreamed of running your own hotel or B&B - or just have a very big family?

Bluebell Croft is the top Scottish entry on the list, featuring a five bedroom main house, a two bedroom cottage, a four bedroom house, plus 6.5 acres of croftland.

The stunning Highland property could be a potential business venture as it's already a working croft and holiday home business.

Its current owners grow their own produce from the fruit and vegetable garden which features an orchard and polytunnel.

The nearby village of Strontian lies at the head of the sea loch Loch Sunart.

Parvodan House is a Victorian detached home built around 1850 that is now unfortunately off the market.

Perfect for country living without being remote, the 1.25 acre grounds include a formal garden, paddock, kitchen garden and orchard.

Its listing warns that the period property does require a degree of upgrading, but planning permission has been granted for a stable conversion.

Located in Linlithgow, the handsome period property has good access to both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

This bargain of a home in Motherwell costs just £47,500, although unfortunately, it has been sold subject to contract.

There's plenty of space to make this three bedroom property a family home.

The end-terrace bungalow is decorated in neutral tones with a garden and parking space outside.

There is another detached Victorian home on the list - do we detect a trend?

The listing reports Marjoribanks was the location of choice for Bathgate's professional citizens in the Victorian era.

Impeccably restored, the four bedroom Bathgate Victorian villa called Glencairn retains its period features with modern amenities.

Set back from the road, Glencairn boasts a good plot size and big rooms featuring lively wallpaper throughout.

There's even an outdoor covered entertainment area to make the most of good Scottish weather.

This five bedroom Georgian house is one of the pricier properties on the list with some modern luxury and historical ties to boot.

Believed to date back to the 1830s, the B-listed home was the former Rosslands Church of Scotland manse.

Despite the roomy modern extension with floor-to-ceiling windows, the home retains traditional features and a handsome period exterior with sea views of the Firth of Forth.

Situated in the charming coastal village of Kinghorn, you can enjoy walks on the beach at nearby Pettycur Beach with views toward Edinburgh.

Location, location, location.

When it comes to the classic real estate phrase, this spectacular clifftop home in Caithness fits the bill.

The unique property is perched above the Whaligoe Steps with unparalleled views of the sea, rugged coastline and waterfall below.

Dating to 1860, the B-listed five bedroom home was originally a herring station with a cooperage and stables.

In its latest life, the clifftop house was a restaurant and could continue as another business venture or just as a family home.

It's been renovated to an 'extremely high standard', but the listing says the next owners could decorate the west wing.
