Six houses searched and electronics seized by gardai investigating Cherry Orchard joyriders

Officers investigating the joyriders who rammed into a garda car in Cherry Orchard on Monday night have searched houses in the area and seized electronics.

Two female officers who were in the garda car that was attacked are now off duty and are being assisted by support groups and counselling services. Their patrol car was rammed twice by one of the joyriders as a mob cheered them on during the terrifying incident.

This morning, gardai searched six houses in the wider Ballyfermot area. These searches were "focused on evidence gathering" and a number of items including electronical devices were seized by officers.
