At the Hamilton Area Committee meeting today (November 9), a total of £2660 was handed out.

The local authority offers community grants to support community groups and voluntary organisations, and grants can be used for a range of activities including administration and publicity costs, equipment costs, outings, start-up support and special events.

Blantyre Bonnie Tots were funded £300 for start-up costs and equipment and 1st Larkhall Girls’ Brigade were funded £350 for an outing, administration and publicity costs.

The main aim of the community grants scheme is to fund projects which bring community benefit and to involve people in the community by bringing them together to enjoy educational, recreational and leisure activities.

The total allocation for community grants for Hamilton for the financial year 2022/2023 was £25,750, and there is now £16,472 remaining.
