Six European clubs target Glen Kamara as Fashion Sakala heads for Rangers exit

Glen Kamara is attracting interest from six clubs from across Europe as he prepares to quit Rangers in a £5.5million summer deal.

Boss Michael Beale revealed on Saturday that the midfielder was training away from his first team squad at present ahead of his likely exit.

And we can reveal that the Ibrox hierarchy are gearing up for an interesting 48 hours as half-a-dozen sides consider their options regarding Kamara.

French duo Lyon and Stade Reims are joined by Turkish outfits Trabzonspor and Galatasaray in the race for his signature and it is understood that Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Copenhagen have also expressed an interest as Kamara prepares to decide on his next move in the game.

Rangers are seeking a fee of more than £5million for Kamara and the 27-year-old, who moved to Ibrox from Dundee in a cut-price £50,000 deal in 2017, has played his last game for Beale’s side.

Rangers also expect striker Fashion Sakala to leave in the coming days as he closes in on a move to Saudi Arabia after falling down the Light Blues pecking order this summer.

Beale has spent significant sums to secure Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers and Danilo to bolster his forward line in recent weeks, while Abdallah Sima arrived on a loan deal from Brighton and Hove Albion.

That has left Sakala facing limited game time during his third Ibrox campaign and he will now head to the Middle East in a move that will bank Rangers a fee of around £4million.

The likes of Jon McLaughlin and Scott Wright could also move on this summer as Beale seeks to trim a first team squad that has been extensively remodelled during an encouraging transfer window.

Deals for Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, Leon Balogun and Kieran Dowell have also been completed as Beale prepares for the Premiership opener against Kilmarnock this weekend and upcoming Champions League qualification campaign.

Midfielder Jose Cifuentes is also poised to complete his move to Ibrox after successful negotiations with Los Angeles FC saw a deal being struck for the Ecuadorian.

Cifuentes will put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal and is expected to be unveiled in the coming days as he begins the next chapter of his career in Glasgow.
