Gareth Southgate has gathered his England squad at St George’s Park ahead of the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia.
The Three Lions will look to continue their perfect record in Group C following hard-fought wins over Italy and Ukraine back in March. They travel to the Mediterranean to play Malta on Friday before hosting North Macedonia at Old Trafford on Monday.
Brighton defender Lewis Dunk was forced to pull out of the camp due to injury, while Manchester City group Jack Grealish, John Stones, Phil Foden, Kyle Walker and Kalvin Phillips have been too busy celebrating their Treble to arrive yet. But Declan Rice has joined his team-mates at St George’s Park after helping West Ham win the Europa Conference League final last week.
They trained on Tuesday under the watchful eye of Southgate and while they are focused on the task at hand, many of the players also have one eye on their futures at club level. The summer transfer window opens on Wednesday and will remain open to September 1, allowing many of England’s best players to switch clubs.
Here Mirror Football looks at six players who could be on the move in the coming weeks and months.
Harry Kane
The England skipper has been linked with a move away from Tottenham for the past two summer transfer windows, but the situation is definitely coming to a head this time around. Kane has just one year left on his Spurs contract and, while Mirror Football understands chairman Daniel Levy is loath to sell to a Premier League rival, he may be left with little choice.
Manchester United are the number one suitor for Kane, who is understood to be keen on joining Erik ten Hag’s side, where he would be the undisputed mainstay in attack and would play in the Champions League next season.
Real Madrid have been mooted as another possible destination after Karim Benzema left for Saudi Arabia. Whatever happens, Kane’s future is set to be one of the main talking points of the summer.
Declan Rice
Rice looks destined to leave West Ham after captaining them to glory in Prague last week. The 24-year-old made it clear early on that Arsenal was his preferred destination – and the Gunners have acted decisively to move to the head of the queue.
Recent reports suggest that Arsenal will break their transfer record for Rice, with a deal set to be finalised in the coming weeks. Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester United were all interested in Rice, but Arsenal have fought off the competition for the England star.
Harry Maguire
Southgate has stayed loyal to the centre-back despite him enduring a difficult campaign with United. Erik ten Hag preferred to play Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, while his England team-mate Luke Shaw even filled in ahead of him.
That lack of game time means Maguire could be on the move this summer, with Ten Hag pushing to sign Napoli star Kim Min-jae as a replacement.
Tottenham have emerged as a potential destination for the 30-year-old, with new manager Ange Postecoglou thought to be targeting defensive reinforcements during his first transfer window at the club.

Jude Bellingham
Bellingham was on a watching brief during England training on Tuesday after picking up an injury. He is completing rehabilitation work at St George’s Park ahead of a move from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid.
The 19-year-old midfielder is set to sign a six-year contract with Real after the Spanish giants agreed to pay an initial fee of €103m (£88m), with a further €30m (£25m) due in potential add-ons.
Bellingham was strongly linked with Liverpool, but the Premier League side backed out once it became clear Real were willing to splash big cash on him.
James Maddison
Maddison was relegated from the Premier League with Leicester last month and is primed to jump ship, rather than play in the Championship next season.
Newcastle are in pole position to sign the 26-year-old attacking midfielder and will likely have to shell out £45m for his services. Tottenham are also interested, but cannot offer Champions League football after finishing eighth.
Levi Colwill
Colwill was called up to the senior squad by Southgate following the injury to his Brighton team-mate Dunk. The 20-year-old is the subject of plenty of interest, with the Seagulls desperate to sign him permanently from parent club Chelsea.
The Evening Standard says they are preparing a £40m bid for the centre-back. Chelsea don’t want to sell the talented youngster, who could fit in nicely under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Liverpool are also interested in Colwill because he fits their bill as a left-footed young centre-back, but it remains to be seen where he will be playing next season.
