One of the best gigs an NFL player can get when he’s done giving everything he has on the field is going up to the announcers booth and making a nice living breaking down everything that’s going on in a game.
A ton of great players have made that move, including former tight end Greg Olsen, who has become a star in the No. 1 booth on Fox and did a great job calling his first Super Bowl a few weeks ago.
Wednesday we learned Matt Ryan might be interested in making a similar jump when his playing days are over (which could come soon). So it got us thinking, who else would we like to see calling games when their career is over?
Here are six guys who could be perfect for that job:
6. Jalen Ramsey
The veteran cornerback has always enjoyed speaking his mind about anything or anyone, which could lead to some very fun moments in the booth. Also, Ramsey has been one of the best players in the league for a long time and his experience and knowledge of the game are traits that separate the best announcers from the so-so ones.

5. Micah Parsons
The Dallas Cowboys linebacker still has a lot of playing days left, but he has proven to be one of the more outspoken players on Twitter and isn’t afraid to come out of nowhere with a wild shot at somebody, or some city—sorry Detroit. Again, that could lead to some TV gold.
4. Jason Kelce
The Eagles center might not be as loud as his younger brother (who we’ll get to in a second), but he is equally as funny and entertaining. Plus his experience deep in the trenches on the offensive line would lead to different thoughts and insights on the game. But yeah, he’s just a good dude who likes to have fun and knows how to break things down. Sign us up for some Jason Kelce.

3. Joe Burrow
Burrow has quickly become one of the coolest players in the league and he has the skills to back it up. Quarterbacks are a great fit for the booth because of everything they have to know and control in a game. Burrow seems like he wouldn’t have a problem with the X’s and O’s aspect, and he definitely doesn’t shy away from speaking his mind. Joe Cool would be a perfect fit once his career is over, which won’t be anytime soon.
2. Travis Kelce
Here’s something we’ve all learned in Travis Kelce’s career, he has never seen a microphone he didn’t like. While it looks like he was born to make unbelievable plays on the field, his WWE-like speeches after big playoff wins and during Super Bowl parades make it seem like he would be a very fun person to have calling a game. He can also chill out and still be very good on the mic, as we learned each week by listening to the very successful podcast he does with his brother, Jason. Oh, and on March 4 we’ll get to check out his acting chops when he hosts Saturday Night Live.
1. Patrick Mahomes
Again, QBs have proven to be very good at the announcing thing and Mahomes has the chance to become the GOAT when all is said and done with his already legendary career. The only problem might be his voice, which could become annoying. But whatever, Mahomes is a special talent who can do things on the field no one else can do and it wouldn’t be crazy to think he could be equally impressive calling a game.
