Six people have been arrested and 100 wraps of Class-A drugs have been seized by police as part of an ongoing police operation in Adamsdown. Operation Albarn targets criminals using parks in this area of Cardiff to deal drugs.
Sergeant Frankie Baker said on the operation: “Looking for and finding criminals is what we do every day, but a dedicated operation like this enables us to focus our efforts. The operation has involved the Neighbourhood Team working with colleagues in the National Police Air Service, the dog unit, British Transport Police, and the off-road bike team.
“We are committed to arresting drug dealers and keeping local parks safe and family friendly.”

This comes following the arrest of an 18-year-old male from Butetown that was found in possession of 57 wraps of crack cocaine and 16 wraps of heroin in Anderson park. The man was detained by plain-clothed officers that were supported by NPAS colleagues in a police helicopter.
Following today's Adamsdown arrest, area Councillor Owen Jones said: "Really grateful for the work South Wales Police are doing in this area. Nobody should feel unsafe in their local parks, but sadly our community is being blighted by a selfish few who think they can get away with anything.
“Police are responding, which is great, but as always, I encourage residents to keep reporting any crimes they see. The more information authorities have the better they can act.”
