A twisted man was jailed for marrying and having sex with his daughter, who had a bet with her half-sister she could bed him first.
Travis Fieldgrove was sentenced to a total of four years in Nebraska for committing incest with his offspring, Samantha Kershner.
Kershner, who was 20 at the time, was also jailed for 22 days for her part in the lurid act.
Fieldgrove, now 42, had only been in contact with Kershner from when she was just 17 - after abandoning her as a baby to run off with someone else.
Three years later in 2018 they began a relationship together.
The police were made aware of their illicit coupling when Fieldgrove's ex-partner contacted the authorities about it.
Bizarrely, it was discovered that Kershner's desire for her father was rooted in a "jealous" bet with her half-sister over who could have sex with him first.
The pair quickly married, after announcing it on Facebook first no less, in October, 2018 before being caught.
Fieldgrove initially denied being her biological father but court documents showed DNA tests proving there was a 99.99% chance he was her dad.
A police statement said: “This case relates to the two being involved in an intimate relationship beginning in September of 2018 in Grand Island, Nebraska, despite evidence that Fieldgrove is the paternal parent.
"Evidence leading up to the arrest suggests that Fieldgrove and Kershner were aware of the biological relationship before being intimate, and further indicates that they quickly married one another after being notified of the investigation.”
Fieldgrove was jailed in 2019 and given the state's maximum of two years in jail, where incestuous marriages are deemed “absolutely void”.
In January, 2020 he was handed a further two years behind bars.
Since his release earlier this year, where he was ordered to have no contact with Kershner, he has posted a series of status updates on Facebook - even spouting life advice.
One post read: "One thing I realized that my past I wasn't the man I wanted to be when I went to prison then I took classes I didn't have to take just to pass by the time but they actually help me in the long run.
"I learned for the first time and it help me realise deep down under the hood man is under all that garbage so I dug and dug for days while I was locked up and it change my life and my life now is amazing.
He went on to "wish" he had been to prison "a long time ago" and added: "My best advice is love one another and just get along cause being locked up ain't a good life."
Other posts show him singing along to country ballads to the camera and commenting in others that "life is hard sometimes".
Kershner's half-sister has never been identified or charged with any offence.
