Sisters horrified to find human excrement smeared on wall outside hotel room door

A pair of sisters have shared their holiday horror story after they say they found human excrement outside their hotel room.

Georgia Cavanagh and her younger sister Savannah say they were booked in for a one night stay at 30 James Street Hotel for on February 19.

But the pair faced a catalogue of mishaps which ended with them finding the horrifying mess on the wall by their third-floor room.

Horrified by the discovery, Georgia told a cleaner who said it was not the first time excrement had been found in the corridor that day.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the 21-year-old said: "There was human poo splattered on the wall next to our room.

"There was also a foot print outside the door. We told the cleaner who said that there was poo in another place as well. It had happened twice in the same day.

"The smell was disgusting. I've never experienced that in my life. I was gobsmacked.

"I was trying to figure out what happened. I'm guessing it might have happened in the night by someone drunk."

Georgia and Savannah, from Upton, Merseyside, went to the city centre hotel for "a girly night" after their parents couldn't make the trip.

But their stay was soon tarnished when they were given the wrong room after waiting 45 minutes and then their replacement room's heating system didn't work.

During their stay, the hotel fire alarm went off twice – at 10pm and again at 8am the following day.

The pair said they were also given the wrong room and complained of the fire alarm going off several times (Google street view)

Georgia claimed hotel staff told them that both times it was a false alarm.

She also said that when checking out at the hotel and telling reception staff about her disappointment, they "acted like the incident was almost normal".

Georgia added: "We didn't get any sort of compensation for our stay even though, if we did, we wouldn't have taken a free room.

"We would never stay there again after our last experience. We feel like we need another hotel break after that one."

The Mirror Online has approached 30 James Street Hotel for comment.
