Sir Rod Stewart has spoken out after his performance at the Queen's Jubilee Platinum Party at the Palace.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children could be seen singing along to Sir Rod's performance of Sweet Caroline. William and his son George sang the song from the royal box, as did Kate.
Welcomed to the stage as a "rock legend", Sir Rod urged the crowd to join in as he performed. He also sang Baby Jane.

However, viewers following the show on Twitter were confused why Sir Rod performed a cover when he has such a strong back catalogue of his own songs.
Jupiter commented: "Rod Stewart 50 years of hits and he is forced to sing sweet Caroline"
Phillip posted: "If they wanted #SweetCaroline, why did they ask #RodStewart and not invite #NeilDiamond?"
And Susannah said: "Poor Rod. I know Sweet Caroline was to get the crowd going, but he’s got a better back catalogue."
But despite saying the "BBC made me sing this one" and asking the crowd to "join in and make it comfortable for me", Sir Rod said he wanted to stay on the stage "all night" following his performance.
Speaking to the PA news agency, he said: "It was fabulous. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and while I've done it before, never on this scale."
Reflecting on what it is like to meet the Queen, Sir Rod said: "She's homely. She's funny. I've had so many funny occasions with her that make me smile. She's just wonderful. "
Sir Rod said the Queen is "a constant" in our lives, adding: "There's not many of those. Not many at all."
