Sir Elton John drops huge hint he'll RETURN to stage after retirement tour

Elton John will still play gigs even after his current farewell tour ends, he says.

Nearing the end of his Goodbye Yellow Brick Road five-year swansong, Elton confirmed: “I’m not going to tour again.”

But offering hope to fans who missed out, he added: “There may be the odd show...”

Sir Elton said he was looking forward to “a little bit of freedom” after the final Goodbye Yellow Brick Road concert, in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 8,

Sir Elton, 76, who has sons Zach, 12, and Elijah, eight, with husband David Furnish, added: “Touring is exhausting for me now, and it takes me away from my family and my children.”

The Rocket Man revealed his plans for occasional shows after the tour at an Emmy promotion event in Los Angeles to plug his Disney+ show Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium.

He also said that his concerts recorded in the Californian city had felt “magical” to perform.

The tour is already the most lucrative in history, earning £678million so far, with three months to go. Industry analysts predict it will top $1billion (£795,000) by the final 330th gig.

The rock legend took the record for the most money ever earned on a musical tour from friend Ed Sheeran in January.

Ed's Divide tour held the record for four years.

Over two-and-a-half years until August 2019, he grossed £630m from 257 shows, selling almost nine million tickets.
