Sir Cliff Richard is again smashing records with calendar sales but for once it’s without taking his top off.
The star announced last year that his days of doing topless shots were coming to an end.
Despite that disappointment for his fans, his 2023 calendar looks set to be the year’s best-seller.
An industry source said: “Pre-orders are through the roof. Cliff’s fans clearly love him clothed, as well as unclothed!”
Sir Cliff, 81, usually strips for his calendars and in last year’s he posed topless in a swimming pool.
But in new images for publisher Danilo he sticks to stage outfits. Since Cliff’s first calendar in 1979, total sales have topped 1.5 million, his website announces proudly.
But he revealed last year: “I suspect I have done my final topless photo for my annual calendar... it’s time to gracefully exit the Chippendales market.”
Cliff told once how his physique was so impressive, he was even challenged to prove that the photos were really of him.
He said: “When I did my last one, Chris Evans said on the radio that it couldn’t be my body – they must have superimposed my head onto somebody else! That made me laugh."
