Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald has thanked the "incredible" staff in the Rotunda Hospital as she recovers from surgery.
The Dublin Central TD said she is "recovering well" following Friday's surgery. She hopes to be back in action in a number of weeks.
Ms McDonald wrote on Facebook: "Personal News: I had surgery on Friday and am now recovering well.
"I expect to be back in action in a number of weeks. A million thanks to all the incredible staff at the Rotunda, Hospital for your excellent care and kindness.

Well-wishers responded to the post with good will for the Sinn Fein leader.
