A 13-year-old UK girl is on trial for stabbing two teachers and a student, claiming afterward that she would become a "celebrity" for it.
According to The Guardian, the incident occurred on the morning of April 24, after the unnamed girl arrived at school with a multi-tool allegedly belonging to her father, who uses it for fishing.
Teachers Fiona Elias and Liz Hopkin, and the student, all sustained injuries from the attack at the Ysgol Dyffryn Aman school in Wales. Hopkin's injuries to her back, arms, neck, and legs were so bad she had to be airlifted to the hospital.
When police arrived at the scene, they said the teenager showed little remorse while detained in the back of their cruiser. The girl was taken into custody and is now on trial at the Swansea Crown Court.
According to trial statements, the girl told an officer afterward "that's one way to be a celebrity" and "I'm pretty sure this is going to be on the news so more eyes are going to be looking at me."
During the court session, Prosecutor William Hughes KC said while the girl denied attempting to murder her victims, she did admit to stabbing them and bringing a weapon to school.
Hughes also said that Elias described the girl as having "sinister eyes" and that moments before the assault, the teen yelled: "I'm going to kill you. I'm going to f—ing kill you."
While there were no specific signs of friction from the girl toward Elias, police found hateful drawings and notes calling the teacher "Mrs Frog Face Elias" in the defendant's room. In one note, she allegedly wrote, "Death before dishonour."
As the trial continues, the jury will have to determine the defendant's mental state and intentions. They have already reviewed CCTV footage of the attack and listened to multiple witness testimonies.
