Singular Pringles crisp on sale on eBay for £2,000 - as owner claims it's 'rare'

Have you ever opened up a bag of crisps and marvelled at the bizarre shape of one of the snacks?

Finding a misshapen crisp isn't impossible but it is usually pretty rare, which is why some people have taken to sites like eBay to sell their unique finds for staggering amounts.

In fact, one seller currently has a listing for one Sour Cream and Onion flavour Pringle that is on sale for an eye-watering £2,000 - all because they believe the shape of the crisp is "extremely rare".

Put up on May 3, the Pringle has a complete fold on the top edge that lines up perfectly with the rest of the crisp, and the seller, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, claims the snack is a "brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item”.

And while you might be tempted to snap up the crisp for two grand, you could always just purchase an unopened pack of Pringles for around £1.65 and take your chances on finding a folded crisp of your own.

The seller of the pricey Pringle has also allowed finance options on his rare snack, which would see the buyer spend £95-a-month for two years - for a total of £2,280.

But it looks as though the seller could be pricing himself out of the market, as he's not the only one selling folded Pringles on eBay, and some are doing it for much cheaper.

In Redditch, a seller is offering two Sour Cream and Onion snacks for just £50, while in Manchester, a Honey Glazed Ham flavour Pringle is up for grabs for the same price - but with an added delivery charge of £15.

The opportunistic seller, called Kelly, said it is a “Folded back Pringle with a slight crack in it but holding together strongly. Don’t miss out, you won’t see one again!”

For your £65 total spend you'll also receive the glass jar with a lid that houses the rare Pringle.

Pringles, first created in 1968, was sold to Kellogg’s in 2012 and is available in more than 140 countries.
