A singing estate agent has captured national attention with a musical advertisement for a £700,000 home she is selling.

Claire Cossey, who has become known as Britain’s “singing estate agent” for her unusual marketing methods, posted a video of her touring a large 14-room house, while detailing its features with a memorable melody.

In the video, the former nightclub singer is seen surveying the “Neverending Property”, a five-bedroom home in Leighton Buzzard, to the backdrop of Limahl’s 1984 hit, Never Ending Story.

The song was featured in The NeverEnding Story, a 1980s fantasy film, as well as being used in Netflix’s Stranger Things.

The video was shared on Twitter, where it has amassed more than 6,000 likes and retweets.

Ms Cossey and Tony Bailey, her business partner, opened up Just Knock estate agents in 2020, when the professional singer of 24 years came up with the idea of creating videos to help market their properties.

Ms Cossey, 43, of Leighton Buzzard, Beds, said she has been making the videos for several years and the “first one went quite viral locally,” and helped to promote the property.

She added: “At the end of the day it’s just a different marketing tool. I’m not saying to people it’s going to help sell a house, it’s just that obviously it’s something very, very different.

“It probably wouldn’t come to any great surprise to say that I’m actually a professional singer by trade. I’ve been singing for 24 years and have toured all over the world.

“We started our own company and I just had this really stupid idea to start singing about a property.

‘I find the reaction highly amusing’

“I’m a massive Stranger Things fan because my kids are teenagers so we all watch it together, and given my age, I remember The NeverEnding Story as well so it came hand-in-hand,” she said.

“This particular house has five reception rooms and five double bedrooms, it’s a monster, it’s huge and I just went ‘the never-ending property, ah, there we go’ and just started doing it.

“I find the reaction highly amusing. When I last had this you get agents that are slagging you off, I don’t care, it’s a different idea, something unique and it helps promote the property.”
