Singer Nivea has opened up about her past relationship with Lil Wayne and the unlikely friendship she formed with Lauren London as they both became pregnant by the rapper at the same time.
Nivea told VLADTV that she Lil Wayne got back together following her divorce from Terius "The-Dream" Nash in 2007.
The pair had previously dated back in 2002, but the rapper called off the engagement a year later.
Nivea, 37, said: "He reached back out like, 'Where have you been?' It had been five years.
"He wanted to apologise for the way it ended before. And I needed a damn friend. I felt like the whole world was laughing at me."
At the time they rekindled, Lil Wayne was expecting a son - Dwayne Carter III, 10, with his ex girlfriend Sarah Vivian, 32.
And the Grammy-nominated artist was already a dad to daughter Reginae, 20. He shares her with ex Antonia Wright.
Nivea had three kids from her marriage to Terius - daughter Navy, 14, and twin sons London and Christian, 13.
But knowing that Lil Wayne had a child on the way didn't stop the singer from accepting his second proposal in 2009.
She admitted it didn't bother her that he was expecting another child by another woman as it was conceived while they weren't together.
Nivea recalled: "When we reconnected, I had three [kids].
"I wasn’t pregnant. That's not the reason he proposed to me or anything like that. I took it for, 'You accepted mine.'
"If this occurred before us and we're just now getting back to it, why wouldn't I accept that son if you're telling me you want to marry me? So that was that."
As their relationship progressed, the star found out she was pregnant with their fourth child, Neal, who is now 9.
But during her pregnancy, she decided to call it a day with Lil Wayne and ended the relationship.
Nivea also lost her mother, and admitted it helped her form a bond with Lauren London.
She added: "You can't take nothing back. So we are the best mothers that I've ever seen in a group with the same baby father. I think it's amazing."
