After winning Eurovision for Sweden in 2012 with dance hit Euphoria, Loreen is the bookies’ favourite to claw her way to victory this year, too.
And the singer hopes to be up to scratch by hitting the stage wearing huge fake nails featuring smoky quartz from her homeland – while also channelling the “vibrations” of the Merseyside landscape for her performance in Liverpool.
Loreen – representing Sweden with her new single Tattoo, out now – tells the Mirror she is importing crushed smoky quartz (good luck in customs...) to be made into giant talons as part of her fire, water, earth and air-themed routine.
“A Liverpool salon is putting them on and off,” she says. “It’s really hard work. It’s a work of art – and they’re sharp.”
She will also summon the power from Liverpool’s soil by spending an afternoon before next month’s show being at one with nature – in the pouring rain, she hopes – with her hands in the soil to feel its “vibe” for her earth element.
“It’s really weird,” she admits of her odd pastime, adding: “It’s such a wonderful feeling.”
And while in the salon, she might treat herself to a local-style Scouse brow.
“I love big eyebrows,” she says.
