There was a festive feeling in Baldoyle this evening as singer Erica Cody and former Fair City star Sheera Delaney turned on the town's Christmas lights.
Despite the bitter cold weather, dozens of families gathered in the town for the big event. A craft fair was held earlier in the day which was described as a "big success" by local Social Democrats Councillor Joan Hopkins.
"Despite the weather, they're all out here for it," she told Dublin Live. "Everybody came down today to spend money and support local so it was fantastic."

Ahead of the big event, Baldoyle native and former Dancing With The Stars contestant Erica Cody spoke to Dublin Live about this year's show. "You make friends for life on that show so I'm just super excited for everybody getting to have that experience because it is once in a lifetime and it goes by so quick," she said.
The singer also didn't rule out representing Ireland in the Eurovision in the future. "Never say never, I just don't know if it might be in my plans this year but you never know down the line what could happen," she said. "We'll have to wait and see."
The singer turned on the lights with former Fair City star Sheera Delaney who attends the Blue Diamond Drama Academy in Dundrum. Erica explained that the event was a "full circle moment" as she attended school with Sheera.
The lights were turned on at 5pm and locals stuck around for some Christmas music.
