Singer Elle King pregnant with 'miracle baby' after two miscarriages

Elle King has announced that she is expecting her first child with fiancé Dan Tooker.

The US singer-songwriter, 31, is already in her second trimester of the pregnancy.

She has previously suffered two miscarriages due to a condition that causes a hormonal imbalance, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Announcing her happy news to PEOPLE, Elle revealed how delighted she is but also carries some anxiety.

She said of her previous lost pregnancies: "You have to go through this intense and really just unbelievably draining and shocking grieving period. You feel like such a failure.

"Then when [you get pregnant again], you're so afraid to enjoy it and be happy because you're so scared that it's going to be taken away."

She added: "Just because I'm having a pregnancy that's going well now it doesn't mean that I'm over losing any pregnancy."

Elle first got engaged to tattoo artist Dan, 31, in October last year.

The pair discovered they were expecting their first child together on Christmas Day, with Elle describing how she could not think of a "greater Christmas gift".

The couple are choosing to be surprised by the gender of their baby.

Elle revealed that when she gives birth she will be supported by her former model mother London King, who is trained as a doula.

In the interview, Elle also credited the pair's relocating from Los Angeles to Santa Fe to imprroving her lifestyle, along with visits to a fertility specialist in Albuquerque.

The condition has caused Elle to have symptoms such as weight gain and irregular periods.

Elle and Dan managed to conceive during her ovulation period, which the singer describes as a "weird, beautiful miracle."

However, Elle revealed her nerves about sharing her happy news.

She added: "I'm nervous about having this interview because I have a high-risk pregnancy and I'm just like, what if this comes out and something happens to the baby?"

The star notes, however, that she is keen to use her platform to speak honestly about her experiences.

"If you're going to share your f***ing life, share f***ing all of it," noted Elle.

Elle, who is the daughter of actor Rob Schneider and his first wife London King, was previously married to Andrew Ferguson from 2016 to 2017.
