Singapore Airlines Flight Diverted To Bangkok For Medical Emergency

Singapore Airlines planes sit on the tarmac at Changi Airport in Singapore

A Singapore Airlines flight, SQ321, traveling from London to Singapore Airport, was diverted to Bangkok on Tuesday due to a medical emergency onboard.

The incident occurred after the flight took off from London's Heathrow Airport at approximately 10:30 p.m. local time, as reported by online flight trackers.

With a total of 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board, the flight was originally scheduled to land at Singapore's Changi Airport.

However, the aircraft was redirected to Bangkok, where it safely landed at 3:45 p.m. local time, according to the airline's statement.

Singapore Airlines expressed their commitment to providing assistance to all passengers and crew affected by the incident, stating, 'Our priority is to provide all possible assistance to all passengers and crew on board the aircraft.'

The airline also mentioned that they are collaborating with local authorities in Thailand to ensure that necessary medical aid is provided to those in need.

In addition to the support already in place, Singapore Airlines announced that a dedicated team will be dispatched to Bangkok to offer any further assistance required by passengers and crew members.

Passengers and crew are expected to receive ongoing support and care as the situation unfolds, with the airline's focus remaining on the well-being and safety of all individuals involved.
