Sinead O'Connor's former Bray home set to be converted into apartments

An application for planning permission has been made to Wicklow County Council to convert Sinead O'Connor's former Bray home into apartments.

'Montebello' is located along the seafront on Strand Road, with views of Killiney Hill and Dalkey Island.

Along with six bedrooms, the property also boasts a yoga room and astro-turf basketball court.

The Dublin singer put the house on the market last year for €950,000 but it was reportedly sold for over €1million.

BBA Architecture, on behalf of Rachel Carthy, lodged a planning application to Wicklow County Council last week to convert the colourful home into apartments.

Permission is being sought to change the existing house into five apartments and build a three storey extension to the rear of the building with balconies to the rear/west elevation.

They are also seeking to demolish two sheds, a 108m2 rear two storey element and a front porch.

Submissions can be made until June 23 and Wicklow County Council are expected to make a decision by July 14.
