After its Reindeer Ready Live Technology proved popular in recent years, fast food giant McDonald's has confirmed it is re-launching the technology just in time for the final countdown to Christmas. To join in the fun all parents need to do is familiarise themselves with the technology - as you have to be over 18 to take part.
The app is free to download on the McDonald's Reindeer Ready Hub on phone or tablet only - as the technology isn't compatible with desktop devices.
Next you will need to choose a room and take a picture of the spot where you would like one of Santa's reindeers to appear. They will then pay a visit to your house to enjoy some treats, and the kids (and big kids) can witness all the magic as it happens.
Simply read through and agree to the terms and conditions, and wait around 30 seconds for the video to load. Within minutes you should see the reindeer visit the family home just in time for the big day.
The app is available from McDonald's until Christmas Day, but that's not all the festive cheer the chain is providing this year. UK branches are also offering limited edition "Reindeer Treats", which you can pick up for just 99p to leave out for any festive visitors on Christmas Eve night.
McDonald's has also worked with Jamie Redknapp to put together a Christmas audio book. The former Liverpool and England footballer narrates 'The Perfect Christmas List', which tells the heart-warming story of Alfie, a boy who realises the best thing on his Christmas list is simply being able to be with his loved ones.
He said: "As a dad, I know how hard it can be getting everyone in the car at Christmas, but spending time with the family, wherever we are, is the most important part of the holiday for me, and anything we can enjoy together is always welcome. I hope the McDonald’s festive audiobook brings a few smiles on those long drives coming up."
