Simple £2 Weight Watchers summer dessert comes to just 30 calories

A sweet recipe could be the perfect summer treat for all the family - and all for just 30 calories.

One popular Facebook group dedicated to WW - formerly known as Weight Watchers - is full of members dedicated to sharing recipes that are both budget friendly and healthy.

And one member of the page shared this two-ingredient 'yoghurt fluff' that could curb the sweet cravings when you just want a 99 ice cream cone from the local van. Luckily, the dessert costs just £2.30 and no points off your plan.

The low-calorie sweet treat is a zero-point snack on the current updated WW plan at just 30 calories. It is a simple snack that doesn't count towards your daily intake if following the diet.

The Facebook user wrote: "A light and delicious low calorie sweet treat you can make in a variety of flavours."

The user's recipe serves five, and uses the following ingredients:

  • Three-quarters cup of boiling water
  • One packet of sugar-free gelatin OR Hartley's Sugar Free Jelly
  • Half a cup of cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • One cup of plain non-fat yoghurt (regular low-fat or Greek)

With the jelly costing just £1.20 at Tesco, and their own-brand Greek yoghurt priced at £1.10, this simple recipe sets you back just £2.30 to make - with water and ice cubes not costing a penny!

Two-ingredient creamy Jell-O yoghurt fluff

The recipe goes as follows:

  1. Pour the boiling water into the blender. Add the gelatin.

  2. Cover the blender, being sure to hold the lid down to prevent the lid from popping off because of steam, and blend at low speed until the gelatin is completely dissolved, about 30 seconds.

  3. Combine the cold water and ice cubes to make one and a quarter cups. Add to the gelatin in the blender and stir until the ice is partially melted.

  4. Add the yogurt. Cover and blend at high speed for 30 to 45 seconds.

  5. Divide the mixture evenly between five bowls. Refrigerate until set, which will be about 30 minutes.

The Facebook user notes that you can use any flavour of jelly or gelatin and it will work, and adding fresh fruit to the top of the yoghurt fluff is also a great idea.

Comments on the post read: "Looks delicious."

Another added: "I make this an even easier way. Dissolve small package of sugar free jello in 1 cup of boiling water. Put dish in refrigerator to cool. When cool, add 1 cup of fat free greek yogurt. Stir yogurt in well. Refrigerate until set. Yum!!"
