Simone Magill explains what is key for Everton Women following Jean-Luc Vasseur departure

It's been a bit of a rollercoaster year for us, and it's never nice to lose a manager.

But I think amongst the group at the minute, all we can do as football players is try and be as focused as possible. Games are coming thick-and-fast, and we've just got to focus on the task at hand.

Despite everything that's happened, we're remaining positive, we're determined. We've got a lot of disappointment, results haven't been good enough by our standards and we know we're a lot better than what we're currently showing.

For us it's about being focused and trying to take each game as it comes, get three points on the board and start climbing back up the table.

We're here to play football, and that's the most important thing for us.

The results haven't been happening so as players we've got to do the work on the training ground and try everything within our control to put that right on game day.

This group of players that we have, in terms of quality, is probably one of the strongest Everton teams we've ever had.

Yeah, it's maybe not worked out for us so far this season, but in terms of our ambitions as a club that still remains the same.

I still believe that this group of players can go on and achieve great things, and hopefully with what's left in the season, we can begin to start clicking a little bit more and results can start coming.

That gives us a little more momentum to build on going into next season.

It's a positive mood in training, everyone is focused and that's all we can be. We're working hard every day, working really hard, and hopefully we'll get our rewards for that.

We're all very clear that three points is our main focus and we're doing everything in our power to make sure we're leaving no stone unturned.

From now, we've got to try and finish the season as positively as we can. Let's cause upsets, let's get results, let's boost everything back up for us.

It's been such a rollercoaster and we were very ambitious at the start of the year in setting out where we want to be. Obviously we're not achieving that, but that doesn't mean we're going to give up for the rest of the season.

We're going to continue to work hard every day, take each game as we can and climb back up the table.

It's massively important to still be in the FA Cup, everybody loves the FA Cup! Even going on and having a good cup run could be exactly what we need right now.

We've done well in that competition before so that's something we can look forward to.

On a personal note, it's a big year for me with the competition coming up in the summer internationally.

It's very much that we can't afford to keep looking behind us on what's happened, we can only look forward and try to remain as positive as we can.

You want to come in, be working hard and winning on the weekend. We want to get that winning feeling back.

So pretty much where we're at as a group is being focused on the next game and getting three points, that's all that's in our minds at the minute.

Having the fans back is fantastic, we're seeing when we have home games how much we as players appreciate the fans and the support they bring.

Especially at the minute when we're needing that extra something to kind of help us, that's when the fans are so important.

If we can encourage as many people to come along as possible that'll be fantastic. We really appreciate it and I suppose we need it now more than ever.
