An exciting offseason of new beginnings continued for safety Jonathan Owens on Friday after the free agent and husband of star Olympic gymnast Simone Biles broke the news of his next NFL deal.
Owens, who spent the last four seasons with the Texans, and Biles shared pictures on Instagram breaking the news of the six-year veteran’s new deal with the Packers. The images showed the 27-year-old signing his contract and posing in Lambeau Field with his wife by his side, marking another glowing chapter in the recently married couple’s new life together nearly three weeks after their April 21 wedding.
In Biles’s IG post, the elated four-time gold medalist joked about briefly pausing her ongoing wedding photo dump in order to share Owens’s big news.
“Slight wedding content intermission to say GO PACK GO 🧀🤭💛so proud of you baby! here’s to new beginnings! year 6! LFG!” Biles wrote.
Biles, 26, also posted a message on Twitter shouting out her husband’s new team, sharing a tweet that read, “GO PACK GO,” along with a yellow and green heart.

Needless to say, both Owens and Biles, who announced their engagement this past Valentine’s Day, appear to be more than thrilled to begin life in Green Bay while continuing to celebrate the bliss of being newlyweds.
After missing his rookie season due to injury, Owens, a 2018 undrafted free agent, will look to become a mainstay in Green Bay after working his way onto Houston’s roster in ’19 and appearing in 14 games over his first three seasons. Owens is coming off a breakout season in 2022, tallying a career-high 125 tackles and four passes defensed in 17 starts.
