Simon Wiesenthal Center Welcomes Israeli-Hamas Cease-Fire Deal

Hostages are released as part of a deal between Israel and Palestinian Islamist group Hamas

The Simon Wiesenthal Center has expressed hope that the recent Israeli-Hamas cease-fire agreement marks the beginning of a new era for the innocent civilians in Gaza. The organization emphasized that these civilians have long been caught in the crossfire and used as pawns by Hamas. They view this cease-fire as a potential step towards a future where peace triumphs over violence.

The Jewish human rights organization extended its prayers to the Jewish community, hoping for the safe return and full recovery of their brothers and sisters affected by the conflict. They also expressed a heartfelt wish for those who lost their lives to be reunited with their families and receive a proper burial in the land of Israel.

While welcoming the temporary cease-fire, the Simon Wiesenthal Center cautioned against allowing Hamas to exploit the situation to rearm or continue its campaign of terror. They stressed the importance of ensuring that this agreement does not provide an opportunity for further violence.

The organization commended the tireless efforts of the negotiators involved in brokering the cease-fire. They also expressed gratitude towards outgoing President Biden and incoming President Trump for their strong advocacy in bringing an end to the hostage crisis.
